Let’s Get Cooking
What has been happening in the school kitchen? The Year 3’s started us off with autumnal recipes from Blackberry Muffins to Seasonal Soup. At parents evening they served soup made by the Year 5/6’s. Most of the vegetables for this soup came from the school garden! This was accompanied by cheese and vegetable muffins made by the Year 3’s.
During the second half of term the Year 4’s made a variety of dishes, the highlight being the Pheasant Filo Pie. Many thanks to the Ward family for the pheasant breasts.
As Christmas approached, enormous batches of chilli were produced for FOBS to sell at the Key Stage 2 Carol Service, and it seemed much appreciated on such a cold night!!
The club members have also been sharing their skills with their peers in both Lion and Tigers Class, making Indian dishes, Saxon bread and Christmas biscuits! Our club has also achieved national recognition with an article in the Lets Get Cooking Newsletter, with further quotes being used in their Annual Report and Accounts.
