Reception Teacher

Mrs GriffithsMs Griffiths

Hello! My name is Claire Griffiths. I trained to become a teacher at De Montfort University 10 years ago. Since then I have worked with lots of children of different ages and their families. My first class were in Cambridgeshire, where I taught Year One and then Reception children. After three busy years of teaching I took a year out to travel to Australia, where I explored lots of new places (even a school in Tazmania), before coming back to Lincolnshire to teach in Sleaford then Deeping St James.

During my time working in schools I have been very privileged to be a SENCO (Special Needs Co-ordinator), helping children who find some things difficult at school. I also love art (my specialist subject at University), so have really enjoyed setting up art clubs and even “Messy Play” groups for parents and babies/toddlers! Now I love to be creative with children in Reception and have managed Early Years teams for a long time. I joined the Bythams team in September 2008 and have felt very welcome by the friendly families and staff.  My latest project here is developing the Early years Garden into a fantastic multi-sensory learning experience, even in the winter! A really fun and exciting challenge!
